On Wednesday April 30th the first ever BVRAHL Cup was awarded to the Pro Water Red Machine. The Red Machine faced the BP Admirals in their second meeting of the playoffs. It was an exciting back and forth game ending up in OT. After 3 minutes of 4 on 4 hockey the score was still 4 to 4, it was time for a 3 man shootout. The Admirals shot first, Kelly Reid made a nice backhand but goalie Richard Marshall stopped the chance. Then Curtis Jordan of the Red Machine put one in past goaltender Tim Buffam. Sheldon Weich of the Admirals who put a shot stick side top shelf on goalie Richard Marshall, making the score 1 to 1. Next up for the Red Machine Mark Kondrat who won the last meeting against the Admirals in a shootout to advance to the final, and this was no exception, Mark put one low glove side scoring to put the Red Machine up by 2. It was all down to Jesse Marrion of the Admirals to tie up the shootout, Jesse went low on Richard and looked like he had him beat, but Richard prevailed. The game was over; the Red Machine had won the Cup. Congratulations to the Red Machine and Steve Rae who won the Playoff MVP Trophy. Great Work guys! See you next year.
